About the Gangotri Glacier Trek:
- The Holy River Ganges is the most revered river in Hinduism, and it has several additional peaks as well as Gomukh on the Gangotri glacier as its source. Hindu pilgrims who travel to Gomukh to see Mother Ganga's birth regard it as one of the holiest locations on earth. You can hike to Gomukh (cows mouth), the mythical Ganges River source located at the Gangotri glacier's snout.
- The Gaumukh Trek takes place in the breathtaking Garhwal Himalayan Ranges. At 3159 meters (10365 feet) above sea level, Gangotri sits at a spectacular location where the sacred Bhagirathi River and Kedar river meets. The trek's path travels through lush woods and picturesque meadows. There are numerous important Hindu pilgrimage sites in the area. May, June, and then September to October are the best months for trekking in Gangotri.
About the Trek:
- We will start the journey towards Uttarkashi from Haridwar and spend the night over there at the base camp.
- In the morning, we will drive to Gangotri from Uttarkashi and stay there overnight at the base camp.
- The next morning, we will wake up, have breakfast and then spend the whole day exploring Gangotri and return to base camp by evening.
- The next morning starts our first trekking journey to Bhojbasa, walking through forested areas and reaching the campsite, and enjoying under the starry nights.
- The next morning we will trek to the holy Tapovan, to heal our souls and spend the next day exploring Tapovan and ourselves.
- After spending a day at Tapovan, we will trek towards Nandwan, surrounded by majestic views, and stay there overnight.
- The next day we will trek to Vasuki Tal and explore its beauty and return to the Nandawan campsite.
- Then we will return to Bhojbasa early, the next morning and spend the night there at the campsite.
- The next morning, we will trek back to Gangotri and from there we will drive to Uttarkashi and stay overnight.
- On the last day of the trek, we will wake up, have breakfast, and leave for Haridwar, and our journey comes to an end.
