About the Activity:
- Kondana Caves are a four cave complex constructed by Buddhist monks at the base of Rajmachi Fort and are capped at a height of about 200ft in Lonavala.
- Around 6:30 a.m., depart by jeep for Kondivde village through Karjat. By 9:30 a.m., you should be at Kondivde and ready to begin your walk to the Kondana Caves.
- Reach the summit after a 2-hour enjoyable hike and begin your cave investigation. Spend some time near the waterfalls.
- Start down to the base settlement after lunch. Arrive in Kondivade at 05:30 PM and take a jeep to Mumbai.
- Arrive in Mumbai around 7:30 p.m., since here is where your adventure comes to an end.

- The Karjat-based Kondana Caves showcase the traditional way of life of Buddhist adherents. Kondana Caverns are well-known Buddhist caves that were formerly carved out of ancient rock and these caves contain stupas, viharas, chaityas, and sculptures. Stupas and sculptures are examples of Buddhist architecture from the early periods.
- Throughout the year, a large number of visitors and Buddhist devotees visit these old caves. Also, the entrance is dedicated to a stunning waterfall which is very satisfying to look at.
About the Kondane Cave Trek:
- The four-cave Kondana Cave Complex, which is located near Lonavala and is capped at a height of roughly 200 feet, was built by Buddhist monks at the foot of Rajmachi Fort.
- You will reach the vae village by 8:30 am and may have your breakfast.
- After a pleasant two-hour trek, you arrive at the summit and start your cave exploration.
