About Brahmatal via Nainital:

  • Another gem of the Himalayas untouched by trekkers around the world is the Brahma Valley Trek, dedicated to Lord Brahma. Located in the middle of the Himalayas, it is covered with a blanket of snow. The trail takes you through centuries-old oak and rhododendron forests. Walking through the meadows next to the Brahma Tal Ridge, you can see many of the places of Roopkund on the trek. A glimpse of the Garhwal Mountains in the distance on a clear day melts your heart.
  • The Brahma Valley trek is also the violence of the same history, and people here have faith in this pond today. The Brahma Valley is a beautiful lake that originates from Lohajung Base Camp in the Chamoli district of the Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The elevation of this trek is 12,250 feet. About Brahmatal Trek from Nainital:

  • We will start the journey from Lohajung which is a very pretty village surrounded by other villages as well. Our campsite is Lohajung for the day.
  • Next, we will trek to Mandoli Village and get some amazing views of the ranges and meadows and reach Khopdalia which is our campsite for the day, it will be a long trek and amazing campsite.
  • The next day is important as we will trek to Brahmatal which will also be a long trek but worth it, as we get the amazing shades of nature and meadows as well and our campsite will be in Brahmatal.
  • The next day we will descend to Khorurai which has splendid views on its trekking route and will be our campsite of the day.
  • Day 5 is the last as we finish our trek and return to Lohajung with so many memories.

How to Reach:

  • By Air: Pantnagar Airport is the closest airport to Kathgodam, 32 kilometers away. The airport connects with Delhi with four round-trip flights every week. Taxis are available from the airport to Kathgodam.
  • By Train:  Kathgodam Station is a historic railway station and one of the most important stations in the area. There are precise connections to multiple locations such as Lucknow, Delhi, and Howrah. Board the Ranikhet Express (5014) at 10:40 PM from Delhi. 5:30 AM Arrive at Kathgodam (Night Drive) OR Delhi to Uttar Sunpark Kranti (5035) Depart Delhi at 4:00 PM and reach Kathgodam at 10:40 PM. (6 hours 40 minutes by car). Take the Doon Express (4120) from Dehardun to Kathgodam, leaving at 22:30. And arriving at 19:10. (8 hours by car).
  • By Road: Regular buses to Kathgodam depart from ISBT Delhi Anand Vihar Station. The bus to Nainital stops at Haldwani, the twin town of Kathgodam (8 hours drive). Buses usually drop off at Haldwani Bus Station. Then you have to drive 4 kilometers to Kathgodham railway station. You will be picked up from Kathgodham railway station by Tata Sumo or a similar vehicle. It is recommended to create the most efficient government bus from ISBT Anand Vihar.

By Air:You can fly to the Pantnagar Airport(PGH) to reach Haldwani and then, travel to Kotabagh which is at 37.9 KM via UT SH 41 from Haldwani using any of the private means of travel.

By Road:Haldwani is well-connected by motorable roads connecting it with the major parts of Northern India. Hence, you can easily reach Kotabagh via Haldwani from other nearby places.

By Train:Haldwani Railway Station(HDW) is the nearest railhead to reach Kotabagh. From the station, you can avail the taxi services.
