Chopta Chandrashila Trek
About the Destination:
A quaint hamlet in Uttarakhand, Chopta is steeped in natural beauty with lovely meadows and buy thick forest. During the Chopta Chandrashila Trek in Uttarakhand, you will also be visiting the Shiva temple of Tungnath. Situated at 3470m, it is the highest place of worship positioned in the Garhwal region. Also, get the opportunity to conquer the Chandrashila summit that towers at 3650 m. The top treats with sweeping views of the entire horizon.
The whole time you’ll be experienceing amazing sights of frosted peaks and will get to enjoy camping at the Devariyatal Lake. The thrilling and amazing part is the trail to the top. The spectacular sight of Kedar Mountain Range adds to the experience.
Haridwar - Kund (1350m) (Drive / 200 Kms) (6 - 7 Hrs)
We shall meet at the Haridwar railway station at 7:00 am and will start heading towards Kund. All along the Ganga and Alaknanda river, it’s an interesting drive. On the route you’llbe crossing the holy towns of Rishikesh, Devprayag and Rudraprayag.
Around evening, we shall go for a shirt hike bt the Riverside.
Overnight camping at the tents.
KUND (1350M) – KAKRAGAD (STREAM)- MAKKUMAT – CHALKOT (DRIVE / 25 MINS) (TREK / 5 HRS)
After breakfast, we shall head to the streams at Kakragad. You may enjoy at the pool while at Kakragad. In the evening, the hike past the forests and Himalayan villages will lead you to Makkumatj (Winter seat of Tungnath temple)
From Makkumat, you’ll be druven to Chalkot.

CHALKOT - SARI DEORIATAL - JHANDI DHAR - DEORIATAL - SARI - CHALKOT (TREK / 5 - 6 HRS) ( DRIVE / 1 HR)
From the campsite we shall head towards Sari, the start of our trek, from where we’ll begin our hike to Deoriatal, a high altitude lake. You can spend a couple of hours by the lake, observing the Chaukhamba peak in its still waters.
The trek shall continue further to reach Rohini Bugyal, a beautiful forest trail in complete isolation. From Rohini Bugyal, the trail descends through a beautiful forest to reach the road ahead of Tali and from there we’ll be driven to Chalkot campsite. For those who are not interested on a longer trek, they can gi one a shorter trek from Sari to Deoriatal and back to Sari(trek-3 hrs)

CHALKOT - CHOPTA (2800M) - TUNGNATH (3680M) - CHANDRASHILA PEAK (4000M) – CHALKOT / KUND (TREK / 4 - 5 HRS) (DRIVE / 50 MINS)
The day starts by climbing up the slopes of the meadows in Chopta. After this extremely scenic hike, it will take a couple of hours to reach Tungnath temple. We shall trek further to the summit of Chandrashilla peak after stopping by for refreshments. From the summit we descend to Chopta and be driven to the lodge in Kund.
Overnight stay in the tents.
KUND / CHALKOT - HARIDWAR (DRIVE / 200 KMS / 6 - 7 HRS )
After breakfast, we drive to Haridwar. Trip ends here.
